One of the best places for sight-seeing in the City of Joy
Among the several “ghats“(a set of steps leading down to a river) in Kolkata, Prinsep Ghat sets itself apart with the view it has to offer in addition to other recreational facilities.
The Vidyasagar Setu and the iconic Howrah Bridge, are both visible from here.
Prinsep Ghat is one of the oldest recreational spots of Kolkata.
Its construction started back in 1841 during the British Raj. It was designed by W. Fitzgerald and constructed in 1843.
A perfect hotspot for photographers and “models”, Prinsep Ghat offers some classic and amazing angles for a creative mind to take some brilliant shots from every corner of this place.
Though I couldn’t cover the entire place through my lens and majorly the Palladian Porch(since it was being maintained by the authorities on the day I visited), you may click on the same for some great snaps 🙂
If you ever happen to visit this great city, Prinsep Ghat deserves to top your list and trust me, you won’t regret the time spent appreciating the great architectural view around!
